Hey guys. To anyone who follows me as a player, coach, whatever...I think I should make a post regarding what's been happening with me recently. I have struggled with health problems since the start of my poker career, about 6 years ago. I was at my lowest, health-wise when I was at my highest, poker-wise. It motivated me to put in long hours of playing and thinking about the game, and to become the player I am, because I was sick and I could not do most of the things someone my age would, so I had a lot of free time on my hands.
In the last couple of months I have made huge progress physically, and as a result I have not had the same intense focus I always had for poker, due to having more freedom in life to go out and just generally have fun. I always said being good at poker is +ev as a job, a way of making money...but -ev in life.
I don't know when I will get my head back into the game with all of my focus the way I used to, but right now I have some living to do. Probably going to go to college, travel or start up some kind of enterprise...either way i'm going to have some fun. Poker has been great to me, I have no regrets, but I think that the game has gotten very competitive, particularly online, and for now I can't give it my undivided attention which I think it needs to be able to beat it for any decent win-rate these days.
I don't think it would be fair for me to keep coaching if i'm not playing, so I won't be coaching, making videos or putting in any significant amount of time grinding over the next few months at least, i'd imagine. Thanks to everyone in the poker community and all the cool people i've met there. Seeya folks =)
