Putting 2012 on the Shelf

Listening to this right now, not really my fav mix for 2012, but it's pretty good.

2012 is coming to an end, so it's time to review. Not too sure what to say about this year, I suppose it was good. I went from being the happiest I've ever been in January, to probably the worst I've ever felt in September (and a couple other times). I'm ending the year fairly happy though, so I guess that's the important part.

January was the best time of my life (as were the few months prior). I was living in Thailand surrounded by good friends, and decided to stick around a while. I took a few trips around Thailand, including a 12 day trip by myself which was pretty epic.

One of the highlights of my year (and life) was watching the sunset over this viewpoint in Phi Phi

February I decided I still didn't like poker, and continued to play about 10 minutes per day. I filled my time up by partying and playing a lot of pool. March was much of the same, but I did try hard to get back on track with poker (and did terribly).

After losing most my roll and just deciding I didn't want to play poker anymore, I was planning on heading home in May. Then of course I had my motorbike accident and had no insurance. I figured it'd be much cheaper to get treated in Thailand, so I decided to stay until my pin was removed from my shoulder.

Me with a goofy smile right after my accident. Was lucky to just have a few scratches. My right shoulder was dislocated and just kind of dangling there.

Here's the pin they took out, never realized it was that big. Must've been all folded up and stuff

The rest of Thailand was ok. I lost a ton of weight, and enjoyed not being in America. However, I couldn't do a whole lot since I only had one arm for about 3 months. It's just now starting to feel better. I spent a lot of time pondering life and my decisions.

Coming back in September was terrible. It was nice to see family and friends, but I was in a super funk. I left Thailand with a little under $200 (which was from my security deposit), my credit cards maxed, and had to pay a minimum of $250 in less than a month. I had no plan, but somehow I've managed to get by.

Now things are going better. I've got a job, debt is under control, and a few promising endeavors ahead. I believe 2013 will be a great year, I'll probably be in America for most of it. Not too much to say that I haven't said in previous posts already. Haven't done a whole lot recently, started playing poker a little bit again. I guess I'll share more when I know more.

Have a happy and safe New Year everyone
